Wax HitlerWhen I first heard of the new Berlin Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum exhibit of Adolf Hitler, oddly enough I wasn’t as outraged as I thought it would be. I mean, after all, the exhibit is not a tribute (or so they say lol) but merely a historical exhibit.  I was more impressed to learn that in Germany it is illegal to display or sell art that promotes Hitler and/or Nazis.  Cool points for Germany on that one.

But the Germans, for the most part, are still outraged at the exhibit (wow, a couple more cool points for you guys) and such outrage drove one museum guest to breach security and rip that wax devil’s head off! You go boy!

All Black Italian VogueWell, anyone who is into fashion knows that there is a severe lack of representation of melanin on the runway and especially in high fashion magazines.  Well, to prove to the world how wrong it is for the fashion world to discriminate on what we are told beauty should be, Italian Vogue will show all and nothing but black models in their publication!!! Before you fashionistas of color begin to rejoice in this milestone that, alas! we’ve changed the fashion world!….take a breath and rejoice in a mini milestone, as this expression of black beauty and acceptance is only for their July issue.

But, perhaps this can change points of view in the long run? As my grandmother used to always say “it won’t be as long as it has been.” Now, if we could only get AMERICA to accept its brown and black people, with gladness, in public and in private, we’d be cookin’ with grease! :-)

Well, folks, just when you thought all hope was not lost–R.Kelly was acquitted today of all 14 counts of child pornography. This occured eventhough during the trial (this is 6 years after charges were filed, of course) there were numerous witnesses (22, to be exact) called by the prosecution that identified the now 23 year old “alleged” victim as the female in the video, then 13 years of age.  The defense had 12 witnesses that could not confirm the young woman as the child in the video(s).

Even after the countless testimonies for the prosecution and the defense, one of the key witnesses, Lisa Van Allen, was not able to score the guilty verdict for the prosecution.  But she was a prosecutors dream, though. She indentified the young girl, swapped stories for the sake of the conviction..she was on her game.  Kelly, Van Allen and the then 13 year old girl (who was previously identified a few years ago as Sparkle’s [another one of Kelly's former R&B proteges] niece) had done threesomes and various sex acts, all on tape.  One act, in particular, occured on a basketball court.  Is it my imagination or didn’t R. Kelly have some sort of basketball theme or cameo in a few of his videos some time ago??? Might be my imagination, who knows…anyway…

The the entire verdict rested on the ‘mole defense’.  There was talk, on and on and on, about R.Kelly’s mole.  R.Kelly has a mole on his back so he’s innocent. I can’t see a mole on the back of this man–who looks like Kelly’s identical twin–in this blurry video so he must be innocent. That’s not a mole, that’s a shadow–so he’s innocent…the defense was working the hell outta that mole defense.  of course, they also had the all too expected PhotoShop Defense.  That’s not them somebody photoshopped their heads….and through some space age technology made that little girl’s photoshopped head look like she was sucking the heck outta his….anyway…

My thing is, if his attorneys were so confident in this mole defense, why didnt they do the Michael Jackson and get pictures of his back taken and submitted in court? let’s flashback to the Michael Jackson case, the little boy(s) describes the ‘King of Pop’s’ penis and all of its “unusual markings” and the attorneys waste no time getting that little pop ying yang photgraphed and documented as exhibit A. So why not do the same in this case if you’re so confident in your defense? I mean MJ’s dingaling did have those markings and he still got off (no pun intended). Then–if you are so sure about this mole defense, why even go into the it wasnt him it was PhotoShop! scenerio? Hmm, if you argue that RKelly’s head (and the rest of the studio in his house!) could be photoshopped into a video, then one could argue the mole could be photoshopped off. Plus, who’s to say in these past 6 years RKelly’s attorbeys didnt advise him to either get some mark put on his body (people have done dumber things to get out of trial) or get something taken off?

How hard is this folks? He married his 15 year old protege, Aaliyah–but her mama wasnt playin’ and had that thing annulled with the quickness.  The then 13 year old girl was ID’ed by her AUNT, Sparkle–another RKelly protege. And as unique as RKelly’s studio was in that house—how could that scene be replicated with such detail? here’s what’s even more funny, the then 13 year old girl used to be in a group, as a preteen…guess who was the group’s mentor?

But a representative for SHADOW PR, which represents Jones, confirmed to The Associated Press that she is seeking to end the union.

In a statement to “Entertainment Tonight,” Jones said: “Several years ago I made an error in judgment by inviting the media into the most intimate area of my life. A month ago I filed for divorce.

“The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life that requires privacy with one’s thoughts. I have committed myself to handling this situation with dignity and grace and look forward to emerging from this period as a stronger and wiser woman.”

It’s not the approach Jones took when she threw her uber-lavish, Park Avenue wedding to Reynolds in November 2004. She received criticism for endlessly discussing the wedding — and plugging its sponsors — as a co-host on ABC’s “The View.” The negative reaction to the affair, which was attended by guests ranging from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to Spike Lee, was cited by Barbara Walters as a reason why Jones’ contract wasn’t renewed by ABC’s “The View” in 2006.

The former prosecutor recently hosted a talk show on truTV.

Precisely why people should not drink!

MANILA, Philippines (AP) — A video posted on YouTube showing Philippine doctors laughing while removing an object from a patient may lead to charges against the surgeons and cost them their medical licenses, officials said Wednesday.

The unauthorized nearly 3-minute video of a noisy operating room shows doctors and nurses laughing, giggling and cheering.

At one point, a hand appears with a cell phone camera taking a close-up picture of the surgery.

As a doctor gingerly pulls out the 6-inch long canister from the male patient’s rectum, someone shouts, “Baby out!” amid loud cheers.

The doctor then removes the canister cap and sprays the contents toward the crowd of nurses and doctors viewing the procedure.

It remains unclear who shot the video and who posted it on YouTube, but the person who posted it removed it from the Web site Wednesday.

The video has angered the unidentified patient who plans to press charges, his lawyer Guiller Ceniza said Wednesday.

The government-run Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in the central city of Cebu, where the surgery took place, is conducting an investigation, a spokesman said Wednesday.

Dr. Emmanuel Gines said more than 10 people were involved – including staff and medical and nursing students from a nearby operating room.

He said the hospital takes videos of surgeries of peculiar cases, but only with the consent of the patient.

Dr. Jose Sabili, president of the Philippine Medical Association, told The Associated Press on Wednesday the group will conduct an investigation if a formal complaint is filed and doctors found violating medical ethics could be suspended or expelled from the association, which would result in the suspension or termination of their state health insurance accreditation.

The results of the investigation could also be used by the Professional Regulations Commission to suspend or revoke their licenses, Sabili said.

“I believe what they did was very blatant,” he said.

Health Undersecretary Alexander Padilla said the Health Department will conduct a separate investigation.

The 39-year-old patient received surgery on Jan. 3, three days after a New Year’s drinking spree and a “one-night stand” with a male partner, Ceniza, the lawyer, told the AP.

He said his client was too drunk to remember how the body spray canister ended up in his body.

Ceniza said the man was determined to file charges but will wait for the results of the hospital’s investigation, expected later in the week.

Good evening folks!

Well today I was compelled to write a little blog about an interesting conversation I had with a friend.  We were discussing life, people and relationships–you know, the usual defined topic of discussion. Well, anyway, the conversation turned to men who try to hard. Ladies….and men out there…please, can somebody answer the question of why there are still those grown ass men out there who feel the need to try TOO hard in everything they do?

I think we can all agree that that is one of the most unattractive qualities that many guys these days possess. I think it’s because they don’t realize that overcompensation is easily read by others and we all know that overcompensation is a mask for desperation (hey, just call me Jessica Jackson over here lol). There’s a difference in confidence and that can do spirit and just trying to damn hard.

We all know these men. They’re the ones who MUST prove that they are the most popular of their crew–even well into their 30s. And don’t let summertime come around, they gotta be the “KING OF THE BARBEQUUUUUUE!”

They are the men who must be sure to let every living soul know–in one way or another–that they get sex and/or sexual advances (or what they perceive to be advances) on a regular basis. When they are really failing to realize that everybody, even ray-ray on the coe-nah gets stuff thrown at them, so we’re all in the same boat there–at least that’s what I believe. I don’t believe I get more advances than the next woman, i just believe I get more bullshyt-’are you kidding me?!’-and “are you freakin serious’ types of advances than most of my friends–but that’s another thing, maybe my mojo aint swinging to the right star or something and the universe is sending me the clowns. anyway…..

These are guys who feel inadequate with themselves, their stamina, their look, or their conversation–or anything else for that matter and must resort to “proving themselves” to everyone else in hopes that one day they will see in themselves what they are trying to lead everyone else to believe that they are. The problem with this is–nobody falls for it! People will like you regardless. They will even like you IN SPITE of KNOWING that you try to hard.

I have a couple of friends like this and actually, one that I am still cool with but not like I was before. Main thing with the latter is, it became annoying having to endure his obvious attempts at making sure everyone thought he was “the man” in and with any and everything that was going on. Folks at the crib want wings, he’d go pick them up and that was wonderful. But dont go buy all this extra shyt nobody asked for and walk in the house like folks supposed to swoon at your feet because you got all this extra lemon pepper and folks just want their buffalo. I mean, he walked in, stood by the door with this shyt eating grin on his face, holding out the bags with all these wings in them like he was Charleton Heston or somebody parting the damn red sea..it was HILARIOUS! What was even funnier is those of us who know him know, he’s not that dude for real. it’s just sad.

I have another friend I have a theory about. And it’s a simple one: he tries to hard in all aspects of a social life but especially with the ladies and with working out. I think it’s because he used to be fat as a youngster and never got a girl back in school–you know, when it counted. lol. But he could be the bomb if he would just cut out all that bullshyt. What’s funny is that my bet is everyone who knows him probably thinks this about him–and it’s kind of uncomfortable to think he’s always trying to make sure everyone thinks he’s the life of the party. But, they like him anyway. Which proves, they’ll like you regardless so stop it!

You know, years ago, on a job interview (or it may have been my first day at work, can’t remember) I told my former boss of a little complex I have about myself. She told me all that she envisioned me doing at that job and I told her every reason why I couldn’t do it–which is all centered around this little “thing” I’ve been trying to deal with and overcome about myself since I was younger. But in that moment, I was put at ease to be myself and not even think of overcompensating as an esteem builder because she told me “That’s fine because everybody has something to get over”. That simple statement meant so much to me, it stuck with me to this day.

So for all those sad, little men out there who feel they need to be this and be that and try so hard so that they can be pleased with themselves–please, STOP. It’s sad and aggravating. Just do you and keep it pushing. Stop trying to convince yourself and all of us that the person you want us to think you are is who and what you really are.

Aint nobody got time for all that.

Dallas club where girl, 12, stripped will keep license

By TANYA EISERER / The Dallas Morning News
teiserer@dallasnews.com
The mere fact that a 12-year-old girl danced nude at a northwest Dallas strip club isn’t enough to close its doors.

That’s because the city ordinance that regulates sexually oriented businesses does not allow authorities to revoke the license of such a business for employing someone under the age of 18.

The sixth-grader danced at Diamonds Cabaret over a two-week period late last year, authorities say. They also say they found a 17-year-old girl working in the club in January.

“If they’re not shut down, it’s like they’re giving them permission to have underage girls dancing and working in that club,” said the mother of the 12-year-old. The mother is not being named because her daughter, a runaway at the time of the incident, is considered a sexual assault victim.

Operators of the Diamonds Cabaret at 2444 Walnut Ridge Street did not return calls for comment. Their sexually oriented business license expires in November.

Demonica Abron, 27, who worked as a stripper in the club, and David Bell, 22, are facing charges in connection with the 12-year-old girl’s dancing in the club. Mr. Bell does not appear to have been employed by the club.

Police officials are continuing to investigate whether the club’s management knew she was underage.

The 23-page city ordinance does allow revocation of a club’s license if, for example, the club knowingly allows prostitution, the sale or use of drugs at the club, or if there are two convictions for sex-related crimes at the club within a 12-month period.

The department also can suspend, but not revoke, the license of an escort agency for up to 30 days if it has employed anyone under 18.

But the ordinance does not give the department similar power over adult cabarets such as Diamonds Cabaret.

“There’s a laundry list of things we can use to deny or revoke a license, but having a 12-year-old dancing in their establishment is not one of the things that automatically enables us to revoke their license,” said Lt. Christina Smith, a vice unit commander who oversees licensing of such establishments.

The mother of the 12-year-old girl said her daughter ran away in early November. She said the family frantically began looking and her husband finally found their daughter in late November. She was then interviewed by police.

According to court records, the runaway gave the following account:

Mr. Bell and Ms. Abron, who went by the stage name ‘Jewel,’ offered the runaway shelter. Mr. Bell told her that she would be stripping at a club called “Diamonds.”

Mr. Bell dropped them off at the club one day and introduced her to a man named “David” in the club’s office.

“Suspect David asked complainant if she had ever danced before, she said no,” the court records state. “David” then gave her an application, which she filled out with a fake name. She also told him that she was 19.

When “David” asked to see her identification, she told him that she didn’t have one. He told her to bring one when she came to work as a dancer.

“Complainant couldn’t think of a fake birthday, so she told suspect ‘David’ she forgot her birthday,” the records state. “Suspect ‘David’ gave her a funny look and told her she would have been born in 1988 if she was 19.”

A couple of days later, Mr. Bell drove Ms. Abron and the victim back to the club where Ms. Abron introduced her to a man named “Steve.”

“Suspect ‘Steve’ told” the girl “to take her clothes off to see if she was too shy to dance nude,” the records state. He told her she would have to pay a fee ranging from $10 to $30 each time she danced nude.

She danced that night and made about $100, of which she gave $30 to “Steve,” the records state.

The court documents are unclear on how many nights she danced.

The mother of the 12-year-old says she believes the club must have known her daughter was underage.

“I think they just didn’t care,” her mother said. “She’s 12, but she’s got the body of a 20-year-old. All they were thinking about was the money she could bring in.”

She said her daughter is now living with her grandmother in Arlington and again attending school.

Ms. Abron and Mr. Bell were indicted in late February on one count of felony sexual performance of the child in connection with making the 12-year-old work at the club. Both are also accused of engaging in organized crime.

Mr. Bell is accused of two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and aggravated kidnapping. He is still being held in the Dallas County Jail in lieu of $450,000 bail.

Ms. Abron, who also faces a prostitution charge, has been released on bail from jail.

Cause of death still unknown for the 31-year-old saxophone player.

281x211.jpgThe husband of British soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae, saxophone player Jason Rae, 31, was found dead Saturday in an apartment in Leeds, England. According to BBC News, a police spokesperson said officers arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs following the discovery of the body. Police are awaiting toxicology reports on Rae, as the postmortem examination was inconclusive. Rae, the saxophone player in the funk band the Haggis Horns — who have played with Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse — was scheduled to play a gig at a club in Leeds on Sunday.

BBC News reported that acclaimed singer Bailey Rae, 29, met Jason Rae while working in a coat-check room at a jazz club when she was an English literature student at Leeds University. They married in 2001. Her record label issued a statement on Sunday, saying, “EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time. … We ask that the media respect Corinne’s privacy and that of her entire family.”

The Times Online reported that Bailey Rae has always been adamant that she’s never taken drugs, and that earlier this year she was involved in a project for young people who were asked to use their songwriting talents in the war against drugs.

“Helping to raise awareness among teenagers about the danger of drugs is vital, and combining this with the chance to showcase local songwriting talent is a great idea,” she said at the time. “The impact of drugs in our local communities cannot be underestimated.”

The Haggis Horns released their debut album, Hot Damn!, in September and were slated to play a string of dates across England over the next few weeks.

Bailey Rae, who broke through in the U.S. in 2006 with her self-titled second album, was nominated for a 2008 Grammy for her song “Like a Star.” She was included on Herbie Hancock’s Grammy-winning River: The Joni Letters and is reportedly working on a new album.

chix w dixOkay, so we all know that seemingly everyone on earth has a phobia about discovering a penis one day while on the hunt for the good stuff—to quote one of my favorite movies, Boomerang, you know, “976-D-I-C-K, chicks with dicks…”. Anyhow, I get this email from a relative and simply had to share, after all, if you are not careful, they might convert you!

Mind you, I think the story has holes in it (no pun intended) and the photos don’t seem to match, but you decide,

The email reads:

wooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww……..Ok, but…..but then if……so how do……well, I’m just saying that…..and then how……***sigh***….oh nevermind……

GARRICK Jacobson was in custody at Surry Hills police station when he
apparently discovered his girlfriend used to be a man.

Within hours of being released on bail, he went to her apartment and
started “belting the hell” out of her, Downing Centre Local Court heard
yesterday.

The two police officers who allegedly revealed the information about his
then partner’s past are now charged with breaching privacy laws.

In a rare prosecution under the Privacy and Personal Information
Protection
Act, Constables Tyrone Stacey and Brendan Ritson have pleaded not guilty
to unlawful disclosure of information.

The offence is punishable by up to two years’ jail.

The court heard Jacobson, 26, was held in custody on September 24, 2006,
after being arrested for suspected theft.

Stacey allegedly used the police computer system to access information
about Jacobson’s then girlfriend, Brigitte Fell, revealing her gender as male.

Ritson, who was looking over his colleague’s shoulder, allegedly shouted
to Jacobson: “You’re r . . . ing a bloke”, the court has heard.

After Jacobson denied it, he was allegedly shown paperwork indicating
her gender and told: “See, it’s a guy.”

As the officers defended the case yesterday, Ms Fell gave evidence that
the incident “ruined my life”.

She told the court she was born a male, undergoing gender reassignment
surgery about 12 years ago “in London, and it cost a fortune”.

Complete strangers subsequently told her it was “the best sex change
we’ve ever seen”, she said.

But Ms Fell did not share the information about her surgery with
Jacobson, her boyfriend of about two months, because “he was temperamental enough”.

Police were aware of other domestic violence incidents involving the
pair in the two days prior to the assault, the court heard.

Ms Fell said she woke in the early hours of September 25 to find
Jacobson in her Surry Hills apartment, threatening to kill her.

“Your f . . .ing mates the cops told me you’re a man – is it true?” he
allegedly said.

Ms Fell said Jacobson then punched her repeatedly in the face.

“He was belting the hell out of me,” she told the court.

She said she suffered concussion after falling over the balcony of her
loft bedroom and woke up “covered in blood”.

“My whole face was broken,” she said.

Ms Fell spent several days in hospital after the attack, for which
Jacobson is currently awaiting sentence in the District Court.

Ms Fell said she told only three or four of her “dearest friends” about
her surgery but some police officers knew of it because she had sought their
help after previous violent incidents.

The court heard that when Jacobson was brought back to the police
station following the assault, he allegedly said he had gone to Ms Fell’s
apartment “to cut her hair off . . . she was a she-man”.

The hearing continues today.
